Back 4 Blood has been officially announced and a worldwide gameplay showcase has also been announced for December 17th. Back 4 Blood is a new apocalyptic survival games coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Epic Store in 2021. The game is set to launch on June 22, 2021.

This upcoming survival game is being developed by Turtle Rock Studios. Turtle Rock Studios is well known for their work on the Left 4 Dead and Evolve. They were formerly known as Valve South and were founded in 2002.

Back 4 Blood is being called the successor to Left 4 Dead amongst the fans and you can actually try to request an Alpha code for the game right now. A lot of stuff has been shown for the game. Numerous trailers have been released and on December 17th, gamers will be getting a special gameplay showcase. The reveal trailer was also shown and it is amazing.

The reveal trailer for Back 4 Blood doesn’t necessarily provide a bunch of information regarding the game, but it does give a good idea of how the story could play out. It kicks off with some scientists finding a strange parasite that will eventually become the reason for the apocalypse. Most of the reveal trailer shows four of the playable characters taking on a massive hoard of The Ridden, the parasite mentioned above. We do get a great look at some the creatures and they look mean and disgusting, it’s amazing.

The Pre-Alpha trailer starts off with a quick introduction for the game. The Ridden seem to be raging war against the humans. The Ridden are deadly parasites that founds the humans to be their hosts. You and other players are the last line of defense when it comes to saving humanity. No playthrough will be the same twice in a row. The game developer is what allows for this amazing experience. The game also adjusts to player actions and how you are playing the game. December 17th-21st is when gamers will be able to get their hands on the Pre-Alpha version of the game.

Players will be able to test out a mission called “Evansburg“. You’ll be pit against tons of enemies that will change each time you play the game. There will be eight playable characters in this demo known as Cleaners. They each have their own personalities and a secondary weapon that is unique to them as well as character perks. The Cleaners that will be available in this Alpha test are Walker, Holly, Evangelo, and Hoffman. Together you will be going up against different types of The Ridden; the different types of Ridden are Common, Stinger, Retch, Tall Boy, and The Ogre. The game developer will use something called Corruptor Cards that will increase the difficulty of the game. You can choose the cards to fit your playstyle.

The Pre-Alpha gameplay demo looks fantastic. The player begin by taking the wide variety of The Ridden. It was cool to get to see the evil creatures in some actual gameplay. The level design looks very well done; since this is only Pre-Alpha footage, I am very impressed. Slaughtering hoards of The Ridden looks like it will be very satisfying. We also get a good look at some of the weapons that players will be able to use. Like I mentioned above, this game looks amazing and it’s only in it’s Pre-Alpha stage; I can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like.
