“Marvel’s Spider-Man” Will Have A Digital Only Release On PS5 And Will Not Transfer Over PS4 Save Files

Insomniac Games has confirmed that “Marvel’s Spider-Man” won’t have a physical release and that PlayStation 4 save files won’t transfer to the PlayStation 5.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases later this year on PlayStation 5 and with it comes a PS5 remastered version of Marvel’s Spider-Man. The remaster is free if you preorder the Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but if you plan on getting the game by itself, you will have to buy it digitally. Insomniac Games has also mentioned that players’ PlayStation 4 save files will not transfer over to the next generation console.

Insomniac Games made these comments over on Twitter where they were answering some questions from fans. The Ultimate Edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will cost you $69.99and with that, you will receive a voucher for a digital version of Marvel’s Spider-Man. You can get the game by itself but only digitally because Insomniac Games currently has “no plans to release physically.” You can check out the tweet below:

While getting a PS5 remaster of Marvel’s Spider-Man is awesome, its unfortunate that your current PS4 save files aren’t going to carry. So that means you’re going to have to fight the Kingpin at least one more time. At least on the bright side of that, PS5 users will be given a completely new set of trophies to collect.
