Christian Bale Has Been Confirmed as the “Thor 4” Villain
Valkyrie actress Tessa Thompson has confirmed with ET that Christian Bale will be returning to comic book films as the villain of Thor: Love and Thunder.
It was rumored in January that Bale would be joining the cast of the fourth Thor film, and now we know this for certain. It remains to be seen exactly which villain Bale will be portraying, although there has been speculation for who he could be playing. The most commonly theorized villain for Love and Thunder would be Beta Ray Bill, who, in the comics, fights with Thor over Mjolnir, before receiving his own weapon, Stormbreaker—which we know Thor wields in the MCU.
Regardless of which villain Bale will portray in Love and Thunder, it’s surprising that he would want to be involved in such a big studio film. It’s possible he could be playing a one-off antagonist, much like other big-name actors Cate Blanchett as Hela and Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio. Bale is a high caliber actor, so he must have seen something special in the villain for him to agree returning to superhero fare.
Thor: Love and Thunder will hit theaters November 5, 2021.
