Wendell Pierce speaks out on upcoming Perry White role
James Gunn‘s upcoming Superman film is slated for release on July 11, 2025. The highly anticipated DC flick will be the first live-action film in the new DCU. Starring alongside of David Corenswet (Superman) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) will be Wendell Pierce, playing the iconic role of Perry White. Now, Mr. Pierce is speaking out on his upcoming DCU debut.
In a recent interview with Seth Meyers on Late Night with Seth Meyers the actor talked about his upcoming role. While playing coy about knowing much about it, he admitted to learning more about comics from his friends than from reading comics himself (he confessed that he didn’t grow up reading them). He did express excitement for the new role though, and fans will surely be ready to see how he takes up the mantle.
In the DC world, Perry White is the editor-in-chief of The Daily Planet in Metropolis. A boss and friend to Clark Kent, he has become one of the most recognized names in Superman lore. Perry White was most recently played on the big screen by Laurence Fishburne in the DCEU. Its newest actor, Mr. Pierce, has starred in The Wire and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.
