Paramount releases first trailer for “Clifford The Big Red Dog”
Paramount Pictures had released the first official trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog, as reported by Comicbook Tuesday.
In 2012 it was reported that a live-action film would be produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment, however the film was cancelled roughly a year later. In 2016 Paramount purchased the rights to the film and now we finally get to see the Crimson Canine in action. The official synopsis for the film reads:
When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. Based on the beloved Scholastic book character, Clifford will teach the world how to love big!
Clifford The Big Red Dog stars Darby Camp, Jack Whitehall, Kenan Thompson, John Cleese, and David Alan Grier as the titular Red Rover, is directed by Walt Becker, and is set to release September 17, 2021.
