Actress and singer Selena Gomez is reportedly in talks for the leading role of psychological thriller Dollhouse, reported Variety Tuesday.

Set in the world of fashion in New York, the movie is said to be akin to 2010’s Black Swan, starring Natalie Portman. While the film has not settled on a director, Gomez will produce the film, along with Shaun Levy and Dan Cohen, with Michael Paisley penning the screenplay. STXfilms has global rights for the film, and the chairman of the company, Adam Fogelson, expressed excitement for Gomez’s involvement with the project.

“Selena’s involvement is an exciting direction for this project. She is supremely talented as both a star and a producer. Teaming Selena with Shawn and Dan’s expertise in the horror-thriller genre will elevate Dollhouse and we couldn’t be more thrilled by the way this is being developed.”

Indeed, the actress has expanded beyond acting and singing by producing other projects, such as the popular Netflix series 13 Reasons Why and the film Broken Hearts Gallery. As of now, there is no planned release date for Dollhouse.
