To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the classic 80’s film The Goonies, Warner Bros. is giving the film a 4K overhaul and releasing it in a deluxe gift set, which is available for pre-order now.

The Goonies is a classic young adventure film directed by Richard Donner. The film’s screenplay was penned by Chris Columbus, and the story is credited to the one and only Steven Spielberg. The film stars the now-famous actors Sean Astin and Josh Brolin as brothers.

The film follows a group of misfits as they go on a magical adventure in search of the long-lost treasure of legendary pirate “One-Eyed” Willy. The band of misfits embarks on a remarkable journey through local caverns in search for treasure, to save their neighborhood from being turned into a golf course.

For the first time ever, Warner Bros. is giving the iconic film a 4K overhaul and releasing it in a $49.99 gift set, including a special edition gift box, embroidered Goonies patch, collectible buttons, and a reproduction of “One-Eyed” Willy’s treasure map in addition to the 4K and Blu-ray.  The gift set is available for pre-order now on Amazon. The original release was intended for September 1st, but this could change. The gift set pre-order will not be charged until it ships, and if the price decreases, the best price will be given automatically.

If the box set is too pricey for you, there is also a standard edition available for $24.99 through Best Buy. In April, there was a SteelBook pre-order through Best Buy that seems to no longer be available.
