“Star Trek: Picard” prequel comic reveals Picard’s new starship

This time, it’s not the Enterprise.

This time, it’s not the Enterprise.

As highlighted by comicbook.com, the prequel comic to the Star Trek: Picard web-TV series, Star Trek: Picard – Countdown has given us a look at the starship Admiral Picard commands before his retirement to the Picard family vineyard.

The Countdown story arc is a prequel to the show, following Jean-Luc Picard as he attempts to assist the Romulan Empire in preparation for the devastating Hobus supernova.

The starship is the USS Verity, NCC-97000. The Verity is an Odyssey class ship; one of the largest, most powerful and technologically advanced classes of ships that the Federation has at their disposal.

Countdown does not explicitly state that the USS Verity is an Odyssey class ship but it looks exactly the same as the Odyssey class depicted in Star Trek Online.

The comic touches on the subject of the Enterprise also, but does not state whether the Enterprise that is in service is the Sovereign class Enterprise E or the Odyssey class Enterprise F as depicted in the non-canonical Star Trek Online game.

Perhaps we will get answers further into the comic run since only issue one is out now, or maybe we will need to wait until the Star Trek: Picard series is released.
