Fans Start Pledge to Subscribe to HBO Max if the Service has the Snyder Cut

Fans have started a pledge to subscribe to HBO Max, should the streaming service include the Snyder Cut.

Supporters of the #ReleasetheSnyderCut movement have posted a petition on Change.org that will pose as a pledge to subscribe to HBO Max, so long as the streaming service carries Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League (2017). The pledge is currently close to its 200 signatures goal.

The Snyder Cut has been a hot topic of discussion lately, especially with the worldwide attention it received in mid-November, during the movement’s two-year anniversary. Cast members of the film, such as Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher, and Jason Momoa have also expressed their support of the film. Snyder has also posted a multitude of images on his Vero account from the cut that have garnered a lot of attention towards the movement.

The pledge included an explanation of what the Release the Snyder Cut movement is about and why it was started.

There undeniably exists an alternate version of the Justice League (2017) film which reflects the original intention of its chief film maker, Zack Snyder, but which did not have a wide release to theaters. For brevity, we refer to this version of the film as The Snyder Cut.

The pledge went on to explain how the Snyder Cut has “a multitude, a legion, of built-in fans” and how Warner Brothers and Warner could “capitalize on [their] interest.” The pledge also included a history of the movement, explaining how fans have defended Snyder’s vision for DC films since the release of Man of Steel (2013), and how Justice League was not the film that was promised from Snyder’s vision and trailers.

The pledge went on to explain how, despite the time that has passed, there are still loyal fans who wish to see Justice League the way Snyder intended.

“We are now 2 years removed from that moment. Technology and general audiences have evolved. Studio goals have shifted. The batons of leadership have been passed.

YET those same fans are still there. We are as energetic and as excitable and loyal as ever.

Our ask is quite simple: We just want to see Zack Snyder’s version of The Justice League. In whatever form it exists.”

The pledge also showed that Snyder Cut supporters are willing to put in money for the movement.

In the last 2 years we’ve raised $100,000 for suicide prevention. We’ve crowdfunded entire advertising campaigns. We’ve organized global scale letter writing movements.

These can be viewed as proof that we are willing to put our money where our mouth is.

The conclusion to the pledge reiterated that those who sign will subscribe to the HBO Max service, should the Snyder Cut release on the platform, and ended with the hashtag “ReleasetheSnyderCut.”
