First Look at ‘Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,’ coming to Xbox this year

It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage.

Fans of fedoras and ancient mysteries, get ready to crack your whips in excitement! The much-anticipated video game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has just been unveiled, and it’s everything fans of the franchise could have hoped for. Set in 1937, this first-person, single-player escapade bridges the gap between the iconic Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade films, offering a new and potentially final experience in the Harrison Ford-lead Indiana Jones saga.

Although the game will feature the unmistakable appearance of Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones, Troy Baker will be lending his voice to the character. You’ve likely heard Baker’s voice in many video games, including his portrayal of Joel in The Last of Us and Sam Drake in the Uncharted series, which itself was heavily inspired by Indiana Jones.

MachineGames, the studio behind the Wolfenstein series, has teamed up with Lucasfilm Games and Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios to bring this cinematic action adventure to life. The reveal, which included over 13 minutes of gameplay footage and developer insights, was showcased during Xbox Direct 2024.

The game promises a globetrotting adventure, taking players from the Vatican’s hallowed halls to Egypt’s arid deserts, Sukhothai’s lush sunken temples, and even the Himalayas’ icy peaks. Slated for release later this year on Xbox Series X|S and PC, it will also be available on Game Pass from day one. Ready your satchel; this is one adventure you won’t want to miss.
