‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ trailer shows a familiar future for humanity.

Monkey See, Monkey Do Over: The new ‘Planet of the Apes’ trailer promises an apocalyptic future that’s gone bananas.

The first trailer for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes has arrived, charting a new course for the series that has captivated audiences for over five decades.

Set to hit screens on May 24, 2024, the story picks up the threads from Caesar’s epic journey, with the 2017 War for the Planet of the Apes leaving a lasting legacy. As the baton passes to Cornelius, Caesar’s progeny, the young ape finds himself wrestling with his father’s heritage amidst a landscape scarred by past conflicts and new threats.

In this fourth installment of the revitalized Planet of the Apes series, the simian saga has scaled the evolutionary ladder to reach the beginning once more — a world where apes dominate, and humanity has lost its grip on civilization, echoing the haunting tableau of the original 1968 classic.

While Matt Reeves, director of the previous films, pivots to Gotham City with The Batman franchise, the animal “Kingdom” finds new direction under the guidance of Wes Ball, known for his work on The Maze Runner series. This will be the first cinematic chapter in the saga since Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox, promising to keep the franchise going strong.
