Warner Bros. Cinema Con Highlights – New “The Batman” Footage, “The Matrix” Trailer
Warner Bros. showed off some brand new footage at yesterday’s Cinema Con held at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas. The studio has revealed the title for the fourth installment of The Matrix, The Matrix: Resurrections, and also screened the film’s first trailer to the people in attendance. The trailer shows Thomas Anderson (Keanu Reeves) assuming the events of the previous films to be dreams and being on prescription blue pills. The trailer also introduces him to the characters played by Carrie-Ann Moss and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. (not covered in detail to avoid spoilers!)
The studio also screened some new footage of Matt Reeve’s The Batman featuring Batman, Catwoman, and Commissioner Gordon set in a scene of Gotham in chaos and ends with Batman taking down a thug. Speaking about the film, Reeves attributed the film to be radically different from what we’ve seen so far and that is a grounded take partially inspired by Frank Miller’s acclaimed Batman: Year One. Robert Pattinson who plays the titular vigilante had the following insights about his character in the film –
He’s really working out this rage. All the fights seem very personal
Robert Pattinson
Other offerings from the studio included a closer look at Dune, James Wan’s Malignant, King Richard starring Will Smith, Clint Eastwood’s Cry Macho, and The Many Saints of Newark that serves as a prequel to The Sopranos.
