[SPOILERS] Never-Before-Seen Artwork for ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’

Uncovered artwork of the Knightmare timeline in ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’ Part One

Sources close to TCN have uncovered never-before-seen storyboard art depicting the end of Justice League Part 1, seemingly by DC comic artist, Jim Lee. At what point in production this was drawn is unknown. TCN reps have reached out to Jim Lee for confirmation.

On May 1st of this year, Kevin Smith joined Chris Killian on ComicBook’s Talking Shop Podcast where he shared some tidbits of Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Smith specifically mentions that VFX workers on set saw the storyboards, some of which Lee drew, for Snyder’s three-part Justice League arc.

“They saw the boards laid out, very elaborate boards, some of them drawn by Jim Lee that laid out the three movies that they were going to make. Somewhere it became two. I guess the idea was, the movies were Batman v Superman, Justice League 1, and Justice League 2. There was this vision of a grand universe. He said he saw Martian Manhunter on it. He said he saw Green Lanterns and stuff like that.”

[POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD]

Snyder himself has dropped pictures on Vero and talked about the many differences in his cut of Justice League for the past few years. There were the notorious rewrites and reshoots that are well documented; what we are about to show you may very well be how Snyder intended to close out Justice League (Part One). FIVE YEARS LATER

Sand dunes. Smoldering solar pits. Gothic spires rising from the desert. Once, this was Gotham. Now, like the rest of the Earth, it belongs to Darkseid.

Coming over the dune, post apocalyptic Batman (as seen in BvS), with a ragtag army of rebels – the surviving members of the Justice League walk over the rise of a dune to see the dilapidated Wayne Manor. Batman leads them. Flash drags what’s left of Cyborg behind him. Bruce looks up to the sky, grimly,

“We need to get inside before night. He’s coming”

A look into the ‘Knightmare’ timeline with Batman searching the sky for and ominous presence. Who is coming? Is it Darkseid? Is it Superman? What else can you gather from this illustration? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
