Winter is coming; Who you gonna call? ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ Trailer Drops!

Get your parkas and proton packs; the Ghostbusters are back to thaw the Big Apple in ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.’

New York City is about to freeze over in spooktacular style with the trailer release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The latest ectoplasmic adventure is a chilly sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, bringing the heat with a stellar cast to face a glacial ghostly apocalypse.

The first film set the stage, reconnecting us with the Ghostbusters’ grand legacy through the eyes of a new generation discovering their grandfather’s secretive past. Now, the Spengler clan returns to the heart of ghostbusting lore — the hallowed New York firehouse and the original Ghostbusters have transformed this nostalgic hub into a state-of-the-art paranormal research facility.

Beneath the ice, an ancient artifact thaws out trouble, unleashing an evil force capable of plunging the world into a cold abyss paralyzed by fear. Our beloved Ghostbusters, both the seasoned pros and the spirited newbies, must dial up the heat on their proton packs to stave off a second Ice Age.

The Team to Beat the Freeze

Helmed by director Gil Kenan, with a script penned by Kenan and Jason Reitman, the film promises to marry the legacy of the 1984 original with a fresh narrative.

Behind the scenes, Reitman and Jason Blumenfeld produce, with Ghostbusting patriarchs Dan Aykroyd and others serving as executive producers. This fusion of original minds with new visionaries aims to keep Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire rooted and soaring.

Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, and Mckenna Grace reprise their roles, ready to face the spectral chill. Joining them are Kumail Nanjiani, Patton Oswalt, Celeste O’Connor, and Logan Kim, adding fresh energy to the beloved ensemble. And, of course, the legends – Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and Bill Murray – don their jumpsuits for another paranormal round.

Sony is set to release the film on March 29.
