Darth Maul and Asajj Ventress in Star Wars: Episode VII?

Ever since the casting reveal of Star Wars: Episode VII fans have been speculating what possibly could be missing. Some say that the casting was incomplete, citing that some of the most pivotal roles were purposefully left out as to help the surprise reveal in the film.

New rumors have suggested that both Darth Maul and Asajj Ventress could potentially be in the film.

The report about Asajj Ventress first came from Movie Pilot (that unfortunately has now been taken down) says that that a previously unannounced new female role will be played by actress Lupita Nyong’o and she will be playing, former Sith apprentice to Count Duko, Asajj Ventress.

While its completely in the realm of possibilities that this character could be included in the film due to her ambiguous open ended character resolution in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars cartoon, and the same goes for Darth Maul. In the cartoon both characters storylines were completely unresolved.

So what is fueling the Darth Maul rumors? This photo:

Right before the casting reveal took place, this tweet went live. Most people completely overlooked it due to the casting reveal, but some are citing that it is extremely unusual that this two actors (Peter Serafinowicz, voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I, and obviously Mark Hamill ) would simply meet up for a photo out of the blue.

While admittedly it is a stretch that both characters would be included, but it would be a great way to further bridge the connections from the prequel trilogy to the new films.
