Spidey Spinoff ‘Sinister Six’ Secures Director

Back in December, we received word that Sinister Six would be written by The Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard. Now, Sony has confirmed that Goddard will also be directing the Amazing Spider-Man spinoff.

‘Sinister Six’ is the title for various groups of Spider-Man villains that team up and attempt to take the webhead down. Originally, the team was comprised of the Vulture, Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Kraven the Hunter, Electro, and Sandman. We don’t know yet who will be in this version of the evil ensemble of enigmatic maniacs, but based on past and future movies, and the villains teased in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer, we can draw up a logical cast list. I believe the tyrannical team will be comprised of Doc Ock, Vulture, Electro, Rhino, Lizard, and Venom. You owe me fifty bucks if I’m right. Deal?

This may be Drew Goddard’s first big comic-book movie, but the director is also set to write the pilot for and set to produce 13 episodes of the upcoming Daredevil TV show. Looks like he and Marvel are going to be working together for a good long while.

Venom is set to get his own spin-off movie, to be directed by Alex Kurtzman.
