Star Wars Episode VII Release Date Announced!

It was just announced on StarWars.com that the newest installment of the franchise is scheduled to release on December 18th, 2015, making this the first Star Wars movie to not release in the Spring/Summer seasons.

Alan Horn, chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, released this statement with the announcement:

“We’re very excited to share the official 2015 release date for Star Wars: Episode VII, where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture.”

Right now filming is scheduled to begin in Spring of 2014 at Pinewood Studios.
