As mentioned in a previous post, Mega Man Creator Kenji Inafune making a new game that he says carries the spirit of Mega Man.

Because of the problems with Capcom he decided to turn to Kickstarter to help fund his game. He asked fans to help him raise $900,000, to help make this game for the PC. Within the first 24 hours of its posting, it had surpassed its goal which guaranteed its coming to the PC.

The big kicker is, Capcom told Inafune that Mega Man was a dead IP that nobody cared about anymore, which was their justification for canceling Mega Man Legends 3 and help solidify Inafune’s departure from Capcom.

Whats really amazing about this entire thing, is that Inafune stated that raising $1.35 million will guarantee that this game will also come to Mac & Linux versions and $2.5 million would see the team release the game on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U.

As of 8:00 Am (PST), the project had raised $1,268,654 and the counter stated it still had 28 days to go. With a safe bet that the game WILL be coming to PC, Mac, and Linux its only a matter of time within the next month to see if it makes it’s way to the current Gen Game consoles.

$1,200,000: Two More Stages: REACHED!

Our initial goal sets the table with six main stages and bosses, plus a final stage leading to the ultimate showdown—but now we can invite Mighty Nos. 7 and 8 to the party, each complete with their own, unique stage!

When they hit their goal of 900k, the team posted the following video as a KickStarter Update:

I, for one, want this game for my PSVita, and with Sony’s recent boast that they want fans to tell them what they want to bring to the Vita next, I highly suggest that they look at this IP.
