Fox places pilot order for DC/Vertigo’s “Lucifer” from the Sandman comics

Deadline has broken the news that Fox has placed another order for a DC Comics property, but instead of sticking with a mainstream hero, this time they are planning to go a bit darker. Pulling from the pages of Sandman, Fox plans to create a show about the devil himself, Lucifer.

 “[The Show] centers on Lucifer who, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he opens an exclusive piano bar called Lux.”

So how will this show effect Joseph Gordon Levitt’s Sandman film? Not quite sure, but what it does mean is that yet again, another DC property finds its home on television.
