Variety has broken the news DC is planning a potential series based on the Teen Titans property with Dick Grayson/Nightwing (Batman’s first Robin) as the series lead. Along with Nightwing it seems Cyborg, Raven, and Starfire are in the mix for the new live-action show.

Now this isn’t the first time we have heard the news, rumors of a “Young Justice” live-action show has been around for a while, so one would assume that this project is one and the same. The biggest difference from this and the previous “Young Justice” rumor is that this one has already been confirmed by DC’s Geoff Johns:

Variety has also confirmed that Akiva Goldsman is executive producing the show with Marc Haimes serving as co-executive producer. Thanks to another report coming from the Wall Street Journal, we know that the the two of them will write the pilot together.

While it comes as no surprise that DC is continuing to dominate TV, with show like Arrow, The Flash, Constantine, iZombie, Gotham, and a Supergirl show already being made it seems The Titans may continue to make waves on television networks over the next few years. This show however marks the first property that will make its way onto a cable channel, and with it comes the potential expectation of a much more mature themed show.
