Last year DC and Warner Brothers stole headlines when they announced Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice would serve as the sequel/follow up to Man Of Steel, but not only that, the reveal of Ben Affleck taking on the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman seemed both exciting and controversial.
Fans quickly cited the 2003 Marvel film Daredevil as their “case and point” when trying to argue that Affleck would be terrible as Batman, but as soon as interviews, explanation of the desired role, and even set photos of how much Affleck bulked up for the role, started to surface fans started to realize that Affleck was a solid fit.
Then DC/WB revealed a photo of him in costume and everyone shut up.
But aside from the obvious older-seasoned-Batman vibe, very little is actually known about how the character is set to play out. Thanks to JoBlo, we may have some new juicy details on what to expect from The Dark Knight in his next cinematic appearance:
Batman is said to be a veteran crime fighter that will do anything it takes to get the job done. Superman is a rule follower, so they often don’t see eye to eye, which is a consistent dynamic with their initial relationship. As for Batman’s usual digs; Wayne Manor is there, but Bruce Wayne chooses to live on the property in a modern-looking cottage by a lake (not a van down by the river, though). Underneath the cottage is a modernized Batcave, which houses a Batwing, along with his other gear (Batmobile, batarangs, etc.).
But aside from this new tidbit, other reports have started to trickle in about what sort of Batman we will be seeing next. Kevin Smith weeks ago revealed that this incarnation is not only seasoned, but he arsenal will be as well, sporting multiple suits and multiple Batmobile’s in the film.
Also a new report from Batman-News has indicated that Batman’s new Batmobile will also “transform” into the Batwing, giving him the ability to chase down his enemies on the road and take off right into aerial pursuit.
BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Dawn Of Justice is currently slated for a May 6th 2016 release date with expected news set to debut at Comic Con in July.
