Its a sad day for Marvel fans, after 6 years of developing the film Edgar Wright officially has departed Ant-Man.
Variety reports that Marvel already has a new director lined up for the film so its possible that this was a long time coming and they were just holding off on an official announcement.
Here is the official statement:
“Marvel Studios and Edgar Wright jointly announced today that the studio and director have parted ways on ANT-MAN due to differences in their vision of the film. The decision to move on is amicable and does not impact the release date on July 17, 2015. A new director will be announced shortly.”
Ant-Man is currently set for a July 17, 2015 release date.
