Its Official. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and David Goyer are making a Sandman film.
In what seems like a dream come true for many, Deadline is now reporting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is officially re-teaming with David Goyer (their last outing being The Dark Knight Rises) to bring the classic comic book “Sandman” written by legend Neil Gaiman to the big screen.
According to the report, The actor will not only produce the film, but possibly even direct it, and to top it all off he’s also likely to star as the lead protagonist Morpheus. Taking on this project would make it Gordon-Levitt’s follow up to his directorial debut with Don Jon.
This comes as great news for fans because this film adaptation had been stuck in development hell for close to twenty years, and with DC/WB’s recent plans to make a slew of film adaptions for DC’s lesser known characters this could easily be one of the best places to start.
No word yet on a release date, but with WB fast-tracking their plan, its likely to see this film pop into productions much sooner rather than later.
