Guillermo del Toro Says ‘Heaven Sent’ (Justice League Dark) and NBC’s John Constantine TV Show Can Coexist

Not that long ago, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro revealed that he was working with WB/DC comics to bring to life a film based on the “Justice League Dark” comics which would be called “Heaven Sent,” since then there has virtually been no news on the project other than an occasional “its still happening” from the director every few months.

Then DC announced that NBC would be making a TV series based on John Constantine, and everything about Heaven Sent went into question.

That was until now. IGN’s Scott Collura caught up with Del Toro and finally got a much needed update on the film.

“We talked about it at DC and Warners, and I feel confident that the two properties can exist at the same time,” he said. “I think that DC is trying to create a great universe of characters, and expand it and make it clear to the audience that it’s a landscape of characters, and not just one that’s dependent on one or two characters.”

So there you have it, it sure sounds like WB/DC is indeed planning a vast cinematic universe that spans and is interconnected throughout both TV and Film, but for now, the speculation can continue as we all patiently wait for the films and shows to come out.
