Ben Affleck Wants Larry David To Play Mister Mxyzptlk in Batman/Superman?

According to the site Radar Online, an insider has claimed that Ben Affleck is campaigning for his friend and neighbor Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm and creator of Seinfeld) to play a role in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Man Of Steel sequel, Batman/Superman.

The site goes on to speculate that the role is most likely to be of the character Mister Mzyzptlk.

“The pair chatted about the idea with earnest abandon throughout the course of Emmy weekend. Larry has long been courted by the big budget superhero industrial complex, being linked to roles in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man sequels nearly a decade ago. But Ben is somebody he trusts and enjoys spending time with and this could be the right situation for Larry to finally appear in a huge-grossing hit film. Fun speculation that it could be for the famed Superman enemy role of Mister Mxyzptlk could make this piece more exciting, since Larry is a dead ringer for the character. Ben and his personality are taking over this whole production — he could come out of this with a producer credit.”

As they go on to point out, it may just end up being “fun speculation.” I for one love the idea of Larry David joining the cast, it would be an oddball mix that easily had some interesting credibility to the film, and pretty much anything with Larry David involved is pretty amazing.

Batman/Superman is set to hit Summer of 2015.
