In a recent interview with The Independent, Ridley Scott touched base briefly on his plans for the upcoming sequel Blade Runner 2. During the interview he mentioned that it is indeed a sequel, not a prequel, side story, etc. And when asked about Harrison Ford returning as the lead (which he confirmed months ago would not happen, and a female protagonist will take center stage) he replied;
“I don’t think it’ll be Harry [starring]. But I’ve got to have him in it somewhere. That’d be amusing.”
While its not much to go on, but it does put minds at ease on the topic of seeing the original retired police officer turned Blade Runner Rick Deckard in the movie. And hopefully it will once and for all end that debate that whether or not Deckard was a replicant or not.
