‘X-Men ’97’ season 2 promises to live up to its first
X-Men ’97 was – perhaps unsurprisingly – a big success. Fans loved the original series back in the ’90s, so getting to see the storyline continued on Disney+ carried a lot of hype – and weight – with it. But Marvel pulled out all the stops and made it a success. Critics and fans alike loved the new show’s first season, earning it a 99% rating from critics and 94% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes (which is no easy feat). Now, X-Men ’97 season 2 is underway, and it promises to live up to the excitement and emotion of its first season.
According to ComicBook, earlier this week Marvel’s head of television, Brad Winderbaum, spoke on The Official Marvel Podcast about the upcoming second season. What he had to say should get fans hyped and ready for an exciting part two of the continuation series.
“We’ve got big plans…I’ve already seen all the animatics and we’re well on our way to creating something that hits the heights of the first season. I know the first season is an emotional ride; that ride continues in a very X-Men fashion in the second season.”
It sounds like exciting adventures paired with emotional storylines are ahead for viewers of the second season. We’ll have to wait and see how it pans out, but at The Cultured Nerd we’re hopeful for a great season 2 of X-Men ’97.
