Michael Giacchino, Matt Reeves tease “The Batman” on Batman Day
Composer Michael Giacchino shared a clip of Matt Reeves’ The Batman’s soundtrack on Twitter in celebration of Batman Day. Giacchino can be seen in the video conducting his troupe as they play the film’s theme song. It is observed that this is the same song that played in the background of Robert Pattinson’s official bat-suit reveal in 2020.
In addition to the Giacchino, the director of the film Matt Reeves had also posted a tweet in honor of Batman day along with an image of himself editing the film. The image shared also offers another look at Pattinson in the suit, potentially in an action sequence in the film.
It has been previously reported that the second trailer for The Batman will premiere at the DC FanDome event in October. (For a full list of panels at DC FanDome, check out this article). It is also known that the film will be a dark and gritty story that is partly inspired by Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One. The film includes an ensemble of Batman characters including Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman, The Riddler, Penguin, and more. The film starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Colin Farell, Jeffrey Wright, and Andy Serkis among others is set to premiere on March 4th, 2022. Reeve’s universe also has spin-off shows in early development for HBOMax focusing on the Gotham City Police Department and The Penguin.
