Joseph Gordon-Levitt brings new life to a 10yr old Fraggle Rock prodject.

Once again, the legacy of Jim Henson finds an ally in Young Hollywood, they his time we see Joseph Gordon-Levitt producing and staring in a live-action Fraggle Rock movie. Variety reports that this project “has been in the works for nearly a decade, but the attachment of Gordon-Levitt constitutes a major boost.”

JGL goes on to say:

“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on ‘Sesame Street,’ and then on ‘Fraggle Rock. Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise. From Oscar the Grouch, to Yoda, to the Fraggles. I’ve never stopped loving his work, even as a young frisky man, and on into adulthood. Collaborating with Lisa Henson makes me confident we can do something that Jim would have loved. I’m grateful and excited to be working with New Regency on this project.”

Fraggle Rock, like myself, came into this world in 1983 but they only lasted 5 seasons on HBO. I’m ready to introduce Red Fraggle, Gobo Fraggle, Boober Fraggle, Wembley Fraggle, and Marjory the Trash Heap, among others, to a new generation of Fraggle Rock fans in the waiting.

Sorry, I had to rewrite this a few times, kept thinking it was a Tinder bio I was writing. I come from a large family where the first nerddom was Star Wars. Mom saw that day one and it got passed down to us kids. Then came the Spider-Man comics, early 90's cartoons and "insert stereotypical media here," but I think I have navigated this analog to digital transition quite well.
