Splatoon 3’s Splatoween Event Returns Ahead of Halloween

The spooky seasonal tradition is back again!

The Squid Research Lab (SRL) has confirmed via X (formerly Twitter) that Splatoon 3 will be having a Halloween themed Splatfest also known as Splatoween.

After a show-stopping Grand Fest to celebrate the final content updates and the threequel’s 2nd anniversary last month, cephalopods everywhere are rejoicing at the fact that Splatoon 3 will not only continue hosting the occasional Big Run events, but also seasonal splatfests such as Splatoween.

Rather than zombies, skeletons, and ghosts duking it out for the Halloween crown as they did in the previous year, this year’s Splatoween is fantasy themed. Players are asked “What would you be in a fantasy world? A wizard, knight, or Ninja?”, and as always, each member of the idol group, Deep Cut, will represent each team respectively.

Of course, in Splatoween tradition, players are given a nice treat ahead of the event. This time, it’s the Splatoon 2 Splatoween headgear making their return. To obtain the free gear, players must go to the news app on their Nintendo Switch, locate the latest newsletter from the Splatoon 3/SRL channel, click the link at the end of the newsletter, and go to the terminal in the lobby directly next to the battle pot.

Only one team will rule them all! Splatoween begins on October 25th at 5pm PT and will conclude on October 27th at 5pm PT.
