Andrew Garfield dismisses rumors about ‘Spider-Man 4’ return

Following the epic success of Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021 it has been announced that there will be a fourth film in the Spidey franchise. But the question working its way around the internet is: what web-slingers will be returning? Of course, the expectation is Tom Holland, but what about others like, say, Andrew Garfield?

Garfield made a superhero name for himself with his two films (The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2). Many thought that he deserved a third film in his own franchise, though that has yet to happen. But with his exciting return (alongside of Tobey Macguire) in 2021, fans are now asking if he’ll be back again.

IndieWire recently spoke with him concerning the rumors, and this is what he had to say: “I mean, like the internet is a big place. I think there’s a lot of people who will just say anything to get clicks. So you might have been duped, I’m afraid.” While not exactly what fans want to hear, it is interesting to note that he didn’t blatantly deny being in the movie, and he hasn’t exactly been forthcoming in the past with his involvement. He denied being in No Way Home before it premiered. So, perhaps he’s trying to skirt around the question again. Or maybe fans need to accept what they got with the trio of No Way Home and let that be enough.
