‘Death Stranding’ PS4 Launch Trailer, Also Coming to PC in 2020

Kojima Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment have official released the launch trailer for Hideo Kojima’s latest video game, Death Stranding, offering our best look yet at the game’s plot & it’s wide array of characters, while still leaving many questions to be answered…

The launch trailer, released earlier this morning, leans heavily into the game’s narrative direction with our best look at the elusive game’s story to date – And just in time as the game is set to release as a timed exclusive on Sony’s PlayStation 4 gaming platform on November 8th. The trailer centers around Sam Porter Bridges, recruited by the ailing President to journey across a shattered continent filled with mysterious dangers in hopes to reunite a divided nation after an event known as the “Death Stranding”. In typical Kojima fashion, nothing is ever as it seems, and we are left with more questions than actual answers. The trailer also features Mads Mikkelsen, Guillermo Del Toro and Lindsay Wagner, to name a few, all whom play pivotal supporting roles in the game’s plot. The launch trailer has been said by some who have already played the game under embargo to feature some heavy “out of context” spoilers from the game that players looking to experience DS for the first time without any spoilers may want to avoid. Watch at your own risk:

In other Death Stranding news, development studio Kojima Productions took to twitter to confirm that Death Stranding will also be appearing on PCs later in 2020:

“Thanks to all of you who have been supporting #DEATHSTRANDING! DEATH STRANDING release on PS4 is November 8, 2019!! Furthermore, KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS is happy to announce that DEATH STRANDING will be coming to PC in early summer of 2020! #kojimaproductions #deathstrandingpc” – @KojiPro2015_EN

The PC iteration of Kojima Production’s Death Stranding will not be handled by Sony, but instead will be published by 505 Games, responsible for recent PC ports of Control, Indivisible and Bloodstained. While it has not been revealed which PC games launcher the game will utilize, it is worth noting that 505 Games recently released Remedy’s “Control” as a timed Epic Games Store exclusive. In a recent press release, 505 Games co-founder Raffi Galante offered comment on the joint PC release of Death Stranding: “We are extremely excited & honored to be working with the supremely talented team at Kojima Productions and to bring Death Stranding to PC gamers around the world; Death Stranding will take gamers through a completely original experience that will delight PC gamers everywhere.”
