CBS Officially Casts Melissa Benoist To Play SUPERGIRL In Upcoming TV Series
With shows like Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, and Constantine already giving fans what appears to be an overload of comic book TV shows, but that isn’t stopping DC Comics. Earlier today CBS has finally revealed who is playing Kara Zor-El in their upcoming Supergirl TV series.
CBS have confirmed that Whiplash star Melissa Benoist will play Supergirl in the upcoming TV series. Other acting credits include Glee, The Good Wife, and Homeland.

Follwing her comments Arrow actor Stephen Amell and The Flash’s Grant Gustin also welcomed the newest hero to TV:

Shortly after the announcement, fans began to gripe about the actress’s hair color, which quickly was remedied by a behind-the-scenes image of the actress getting her hair done for the role.
With production starting fairly soon for the upcoming show, especially if its planning to debut this fall, fans shouldn’t have to wait too long to see the iconic hero in costume.
Supergirl is set to debut this fall on CBS.
