Late last night word broke that Marvel was looking at Louis D’Esposito to direct Ant-Man, and now The Hollywood Reporter claims that Rawson Thurber, Adam McKay, and Ruben Fleischer are all also in the running to replace Edgar Wright.
Surprisingly enough, the new directors added to the mix are primarily known for comedic films. With Rawson Thurber known for Dodgeball: A True Underdog’s Story and We’re The Millers, Adam McKay known for The Anchorman films, The Other Guys, and Step Brothers, and Ruben Fleischer known for Zombieland, 30 Minutes or Less, and Gangster Squad.
As with last nights post, whoever takes the gig would be stepping in to a production already ready for filming with the new director having very little creative input into it.
Ant-Man is currently set for July 17th 2015 release date.
