Predator: Badlands Trailer Turns the Predator into Prey

The official trailer for Predator: Badlands has been released by 20th Century Studios giving us a proper look at what Dan Trachtenberg has in store for his follow up to Prey.

The trailer for Predator: Badlands, the ninth Predator movie in the series, puts a new spin on the concept. This time we see the Predator becoming the prey. It also humanizes the Predator by making him the protagonist of the film. The Predator, played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi is called Dek and is a young Predator outcast by his clan. In a bid to reclaim his title, he goes on the search for the ultimate adversary. It’s not yet clear what the ultimate adversary is but it’s described as the ultimate apex predator in the trailer.

Teaming up with the Predator is Elle Fanning’s Thia. Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android that has seen better days, has a strong desire to join this new Predator on his journey. It seems pretty clear that an Alien/Predator universe is slowly being built for potential crossovers in the near future.

Predator: Badlands comes to theaters November 7.
