Superman The Official Teaser Trailer is Here
The official teaser trailer for James Gunn’s Superman has arrived, giving us our first look at the titular hero in action.
It’s an epic Superman trailer that fans will be pouring over for days to come. We find our hero in a bad state as he crashes to Earth, beat up and bloody. But have no fear. His trusty friend Krypto shows up to help him home. It’s a trailer of few words, focusing more on the iconic hero and the introduction to the new cinematic world of DC and its vast array of characters.
Coupled with the trailer is a guitar version of John Williams’ 1978 Superman theme, which plays throughout as it builds to an epic orchestral version that will leave you covered in goosebumps.
You can listen to the official trailer theme music by Superman 2025’s composer, John Murphy, here:
James Gunn, who wrote and directed the film, has described it as “a movie about kindness.” The director, perhaps best known for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, took on the herculean task of returning the Man of Steel to the big screen. Gunn was confirmed as director for the film back in March 2023. At that time, the original title of the film was Superman Legacy. However, it was changed to just Superman less than a year later. Gunn felt the title Superman was better suited to the new era of DC they were kicking off with this film.
Superman will be part of James Gunn’s and Peter Safran’s new DC Comics cinematic universe or DCU.
Superman stars David Corenswet as our new Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. Joining them are Nathan Fillion, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo and Wendell Pierce.
