Batman: Revolution The Continuation of the Burton films is on the Way!

The second novel by John Jackson Miller will be set between Batman and Batman Returns

Last week I wrote about the release of John Jackson Miller’s new Batman novel Batman: Resurrection which continues the story of the Batman from the two Tim Burton directed films Batman, released in 1989 and Batman Returns, released in 1992. Batman Resurrection went on sale just recently on October 15th and now we know the title and release date of it’s sequel.

Batman: Revolution will hit stores in the Fall of 2025 and based on the hints provided by John Jackson Miller’s X feed the next villain’s identity might not be so enigmatic…

If we go by the book cover of Batman: Revolution the large white question mark certainly seems to imply that the next enemy from Batman’s Rogues gallery will be The Riddler!

He followed up his post with another announcing the release date and title of the next book.

My next novel, BATMAN: REVOLUTION releases from @DelReyBooks in the fall of 2025! The sequel to BATMAN: RESURRECTION, it’s my second novel set between BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS. Return to Gotham City today with #Batman RESURRECTION — and continue the ride in ’25 with REVOLUTION!

While we have seen The Riddler in previous films, most recently in Matt ReevesThe Batman and going further back in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever, we never got an interpretation of the character from the Tim Burton series of movies. The Batman ’89: Echoes comic gave us a dark, mysterious version of the character earlier this year. It will be interesting to see how John Jackson Miller will handle The Riddler, if that really is the villain of his next book. Might it be anything like what Tim Burton originally had in mind when Robin Williams was almost cast as the Prince of Puzzles?

Batman: Resurrection is available to buy now.
