Bill Murray Follows Up on Movie Set Mistake
Comedians are prone and known to say things that are often taken out of context or even labeled as controversial. In today’s culture, even the smallest thing said in jest can be construed as any number of things, from slander to sexual harassment. For Bill Murray, blue speak and stepping on toes is more or less remaining on brand for the veteran actor, comedian and former SNL cast member. This time however, the toes that were stepped on decided to step back.
The official chatter coming from various new outlets and squawk spots is that production on the Searchlight Pictures film Being Mortal (directed and starring Aziz Ansari and adapted from the non-fiction book by Atul Gawande) has been suspended pending an investigation with regards to an on-set incident that occurred between Murray and an unnamed person. In a conversation with CNBC, Bill opened up about the situation and what he has been able to take away from it.
One can only hope that peace is made between Bill Murray and this yet to be named individual, and that production for the movie can resume in a timely and expedient manner.
