It’s a “Bug’s Life” in Adventure Game “Metamorphosis”
Ever wanted a bug’s-eye perspective on our world? How ’bout a mystery and some puzzles to go with it? The newly released Metamorphosis has you covered! The above trailer introduces us to a larger-than-life world, with platforms scaled perfectly for creepy crawlies and an overarching narrative of corruption and mystery in the human world.
Developer All in! Games frames Metamorphosis as “a surreal adventure inspired by the curious imagination of Franz Kafka.” Their website goes on to list key features of the game and its intriguing premise:
- A bug’s perspective in first-person – see the world in a new light.
- Challenging environmental puzzles – parkour, wall climb, search for clues, and overcome obstacles.
- Unique movement mechanics – make full use of your tiny body and sticky limbs.
- A story inspired by Kafka’s imagination – meet eccentric characters in a hand-painted world, adding a layer of the fantastical to the grim setting.
What once seemed like mundane dwellings have become an expansive obstacle course, and now you’ll have to chart your own path through the dingy nooks and crannies that exist within the cracks of civilization.
Use your wits to unravel the truth, and regain the life you once knew.
Metamorphosis is available now on Steam (currently 10% off), Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4, and GOG.
