Backers Vote For English Voice Acting for Mighty No. 9
During the widely successful Kickstarter campaign for Keiji Inafune’s Mighy No. 9, Comcept updated their goals and asked for $200,000 to add both English and Japanese voices to the final game. However, at the beginning of October, they revealed an update explaining that much to their dismay funding was insufficient for supporting both languages in the final product.
“Rather than stick to the revised target of $200K for both English and Japanese voice acting and close it down short of the goal, we’ve decided to lower the goal back to the original $100K for one language, and rather than dictate which one voiced language we offer in the game, we want to put it to a vote and let you, our loyal backers decide: English or Japanese!”
After a taking a vote from backers and fans, Mighty No. 9 will officially feature English voice acting.
While they did tease DLC along with the announcement, which many speculate that could eventually lead to another voice track coming if the game is received well.
Mighty No. 9 is currently being developed for Linux, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo 3DS, Mac OS X, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One with a release window of April 2015.
