[RUMOR] Marvel is looking at Jared Leto for Doctor Strange

Earlier today it was revealed that Scott Derrickson (Sinister) will be directing the upcoming Marvel Phase 3 film DOCTOR STRANGE and now we have the first real rumor surrounding the casting of the title character.

The report comes from Badass Digest, that Marvel is eyeing actor Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club) for the role of Doctor Stephen Strange.

I had heard that Derrickson wanted to take a swing at the script, and it’s interesting that there is no writer announced in the Variety story. I have also heard that Marvel likes (or liked, I don’t know what the current status of this is) Jared Leto for Stephen Strange. God help us all if that’s true.

While the actor really has proven his acting chops over the years with roles in Requiem for a Dream  and even landing an Oscar in Dallas Buyers Club,  he would not only fit the age range that Marvel was previously rumored to be looking at but also he has the look of the character. I, for one, love the idea.
