Kevin Smith has seen Ben Affleck’s Batman Costume; Here is what he had to say
Over this past weekend, Kevin Smith hosted a Q&A session with Zack Snyder and other members of the cast of Man Of Steel. While fans were expecting more Batman Vs Superman related tid-bits from the session, it seems one fan didn’t leave feeling disappointed; That fan being Kevin Smith himself.
On his weekly Podcast “Hollywood Babble-On with Ralph Garman and Kevin Smith detailed what he saw:
“I saw the costume, more than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume…I don’t want to give anything away cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this…I instantly bear hugged him. You have not seen this costume in film before. Because every other movie has done this matrixy black armor thing…There wasn’t a single nipple on this [frick]ing suit man. I think everyone is gonna be like ‘Holy Shit!’ We haven’t been down this path before. Even the Hardest core “[frick] this movie” person will be like ‘alright, I’m ready!’
He then goes on to explain what the suit reminded him of.
“It seemed like it was very [Redacted] Influenced.”
Unfortunately for fans, what he said was bleeped out. However, Batman-News reported that there was a fan at the live cast who cleared up what was censored:
“a fan who was at the live recording says that it was “Jim Lee” that got bleeped on the podcast.”
Yes, you read that right. Apparently Kevin Smith feels that Zack Snyder got Ben Affleck in a very Jim Lee looking Batman suit and it was a dream come true.
Now comes the big question, which version is it? Pre-New 52 Batman with the Blue and Grey, or the post-New 52 Batman with the black an grey and the semi-armored look.
