Disney Confirms Ice Age 6 is Undergoing Development

The Blue Sky franchise unthaws for one more adventure!

The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiary 20th Century Animation has confirmed at D23 Brazil that the Ice Age franchise is coming back for a sixth installment. While getting Disney fans excited at what’s in store for the future of the various brands under its umbrella, this announcement has come as quite the surprise especially considering the fact that the IP’s creator, Blue Sky Studios, became one of many notches under Disney’s belt through the acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Sweetening the news even more, it has also been confirmed that the franchise’s cast; Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, Simon Pegg, Dennis Leary, and John Leguizamo will return to reprise their roles. Ice Age 6 is also set to be a theatrical release and not going directly to streaming on Disney+. No release date has been set at this time.
