Denzel Washington Confirms That Equalizer 4 & 5 Are In Development

The Gladiator II star reassures action fans that there’s more justice to be served in the future.

Just when the juicy details regarding the future of Denzel Washington seemingly dried up, it couldn’t be further from the truth! After confirming last week that Ryan Coogler is working hard to craft the perfect role for him in Black Panther 3 (which has yet to be formally confirmed and/or announced by Marvel Studios), Denzel drops another shocking bombshell in an Esquire interview that Equalizer 4 and Equalizer 5 are also currently in the works.

I told them I would do another Equalizer, and we’re doing four and five. More people are happy about that — people love those daggone Equalizers.

Antoine Fuqua, the director of the Equalizer trilogy, has yet to confirm his return to the franchise’s directorial chair. As of now, Fuqua has stated that he’s considering working on an Equalizer prequel project that tells the origin of Denzel’s character, Robert McCall, and will look into using AI to de-age his award-winning leading man for that story. No release dates have been announced at this time.
