Set Photos Reveal Spider-Man Noir
Set photos have given us our first look at what Spider-Man Noir will look like in the live action series that’s coming to Amazon Prime.
The pictures come from the set of what is intended to be Sony’s first entry into television that connects to their larger Spiderverse, known as Sony’s Spider-Man Universe or SSU. It features Nicholas Cage as Spider-Noir and will be set in an alternate New York of the 1930s. Cage had previously voiced the character in Sony’s animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
I would have never imagined we’d get to see a Spider-Noir series, especially one starring Oscar Winner Nicholas Cage, but here we are. It’s pretty amazing, and the pictures make me even more excited for it. The suit seems to match accurately how the character has been depicted in the comics and more recently in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Oren Uziel, writer of 22 Jump Street and Steve Lightfoot showrunner and writer of Netflix’s The Punisher series will be co-showrunners and executive producers of Spider-Noir. The series was developed with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal who will also serve as executive producers on the show. Spider-Noir is set to be an 8 episode series and is being filmed from October 2024 to February 2025, with the series hopefully set to debut later in 2025.
