The First Teaser For ‘BEL-AIR’ Has Been Released

Peacock has officially released the first teaser for ‘BEL-AIR’ per Variety.

The one-minute teaser starts with the show’s lead character Will, played by actor Jabari Banks, falling into what appears to be a luxurious outdoor pool. We see iconic Fresh Prince and Philadelphia related items, such as basketballs, ATVs and fuzzy dice, descending to the bottom with Will, as he narrates the trailer with brief quotes from the beloved and instantly recognizable theme song from the original show. Finally, we see the young ‘prince’ take his seat on a golden throne at the bottom of the pool, as a studded golden crown rests upon his head.

Based on a viral concept video made by Morgan Cooper, ‘BEL-AIR’ is the reimagining the classic 90’s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” The series is described as a dramatic retelling of the story of the original Fresh Prince, in which we see troublesome West Philadelphia teenager Will Smith sent by his single mother to live with his wealthy relatives in Bel-Air in hopes of keeping him out of trouble.  Along with Banks, Adrian Holmes, Cassandra Freeman, Olly Sholotan, Coco Jones, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones and Simone Joy Jones will also star in the upcoming drama. Cooper will serve as director, with T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson serving as showrunners, and Quincy Jones and Will Smith, via Westbrook Studios, are set to return to produce the show. ‘BEL-AIR’ is set to premiere via streaming in 2022.
