It’s a long way back to the top, that eventual triumphant return to normalcy in society, even in an eventual post COVID-19 world.
One of the major industries that was affected in the worst way possible by the virus was the movie theaters. In all but an instant theaters across the country shut down. From major chains to specialty venues , small-town setups and landmark’s, all felt the sting of being forced to close up.
For many of these motion picture palaces it has been nothing short of a death sentence. Yet there is a light at the end of the tunnel for one vaunted institution. That theater is L.A.’s beloved Vista Theater. Its savior is none other than famed director Quentin Tarantino.
Sitting down with Dax Shepherd for the most recent episode of Armchair Expert Podcast, Tarantino revealed his purchase of this historic building and his plans for it.
Tarantino is already the owner of another famed L.A. movie theater, The New Beverly. Since his purchase of the site in 2014 and taking an active role in the films shown there, it is safe to say that the plans he has for The Vista will bear the same excellent fruit as with his previous venture into theater ownership.
