Kevin Feige Says Marvel Studios Will Be Moving Away from Massive Multi-Movie Deal With Actors

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Feige explained that Marvel is moving away from the massive multi-movie deals it once offered to its actors. Rather, actors will stay on and return for further projects if they are enthusiastic about the universe as opposed to being locked into contractual obligations.

This is what Feige had to say:

“It varies, project to project, cast to cast. Really, what we want are people that come in, are excited to be in the universe, are excited at the opportunity to do more things, as opposed to being locked into contractual obligations.”

Feige was also asked about if the studio is making deals for a certain number of appearances in various shows and movies. “That got a lot of attention way back when, with I think Scarlett, and [Chris] Hemsworth and Evans and Sam Jackson. It varies now,” says Feige.

With the theatrical release of Black Widow on July 7th and the Disney+ Premier Access on July 9th, Kevin Fiege has hinted that more characters in the MCU will have their own prequel movie in order to explore the characters in further depth. Thankfully, with the release of Black Widow, we could finally have answers on who Natasha Romanoff was before she was an Avenger and how she managers to deal with her past, years later.
