Nintendo Announces Breath of the Wild Prequel Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
In a bid to tide over fans anxiously awaiting the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, Nintendo has just announced a spin off title with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Like its predecessor, Hyrule Warriors, Age of Calamity will allow players to battle hoards of enemies as Link, Princess Zelda, and other characters from Breath of the Wild. Zelda fans will be able to pick this title up for the Nintendo Switch on November 20th.
You can check out the trailer for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity below.
This new entry in the Hyrule Warriors series will let players witness the events of the Great Calamity that happened 100 years prior to the events of Breath of the Wild. Familiar characters like Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa, Revali, and others appear fighting alongside Link and Zelda as they defend Hyrule from Calamity Ganon. We also get a glimpse of a possible new character in the cover art for the game, which appears to be a small, egg-shaped Guardian. Pre-orders are already available online, with a special weapon, the Lucky Ladle, given to those who pre-order the digital copy.
Also releasing in November is a second wave of Amiibo for the four Champions from Breath of the Wild. The Amiibo for Daruk, Mipha, Urbosa, and Revali were orignally released some time ago, and could be used in Breath of the Wild to offer special helms for Link depicting each of the Champion’s Divine Beasts. This time around, they will more than likely be used as aids in battle for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Pick up Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and the four Champion Amiibo on November 20th.
