Isla Sorna Return Teased for “Jurassic World: Dominion”

Site B, also know as Isla Sorna , in Jurassic Park III

Isla Sorna, the island that was the main setting for two original Jurassic Park trilogy entries The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, is now being teased to return in Universal’s Jurassic World: Dominion by the blockbuster’s director Colin Trevorrow.

Isla Sorna, also known as Site B, was first introduced in the Jeff Goldblum led Lost World: Jurassic Park as InGen‘s “factory floor”, where dinosaurs were born in the facilities InGen built on the island. The dinosaurs were then nursed in temporary cages until they were deemed fit to be transported to the first island introduced to audiences in the original Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar. While the sequel Jurassic World trilogy has taken place mainly on Isla Nublar , there were a few subtle teases during both Jurassic World‘s and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’s respective viral marketing campaigns that would suggest that Isla Sorna is still InGen’s preferred site for genetic engineering and production.

Jurassic World: Dominion already started rolling the cameras earlier this year, but was quickly suspended due to the growing concern for the coronavirus pandemic at the time. Production was allowed to resume on July 10th and the cameras have been shooting ever since. Set photos from the film’s cast have made their presence felt on the internet , however this set photo from Colin Treverrow may provide a hint towards what to come in the JW: Dominion.

The set photo was sent in by Colin Trevorrow to jurassicoutpost.com.

The object in the photo seems to be a cryogenic chamber, typically reserved to hold unborn dinosaur embryos in this franchise, marked with the infamous InGen logo and the “Site B – Isla Sorna” label. While this set photo confirms that Isla Sorna and its role of being a “genetic factory floor” will no doubt be playing a factor into the movie’s plot, fans are hoping that a significant portion of the action in Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World: Dominion takes place on one of the more dangerous islands within the Five Deaths island chain introduced throughout the Jurassic Park / World movie series.
